Babybox Collection
Wool & Silk Pajamas
Our exclusive Wool & Silk Pajamas from our bespoke Babybox Collection, crafted from a blend of wool and silk, are perfect for babies and toddlers. These pajamas stand out with their comfortably high neckline, shape retention even after multiple washes, and exceptionally skin-friendly, comfortable properties.
For our Babybox Collection wool & silk products and our curated styles from Joha, we have had very good experiences with the following care method:
🧺 Machine Washing
-
Use the wool cycle at max. 30 °C (86 °F)
-
Select the lowest possible water temperature
-
Reduce spin speed to max. 600 rpm
-
No final high-speed spin
-
Turn garments inside out
-
Always use a laundry bag to reduce friction and prevent felting
⚠️ Please note: Washing programs vary depending on the machine. Especially older washing machines may not have a sufficiently gentle wool program. Therefore, we cannot guarantee this recommendation.
Always follow the care label inside the garment, as fiber origin and composition may vary by manufacturer.
Choosing the Right Detergent
-
Use a high-quality wool detergent without enzymes
-
Do not use fabric softener
-
Follow the manufacturer’s dosage instructions carefully
We recommend the wool shampoo by Disana, as it is particularly mild and ideal for natural wool and wool-silk garments.
Don’t Forget Lanolin 🐑
If your detergent does not contain a re-fatting component, add a small amount of lanolin every second or third wash.
This helps maintain wool’s natural protective layer, keeping the fabric soft, elastic and durable.
Stain Treatment
-
Pre-treat stains carefully with gall soap
-
Avoid rubbing
-
Wash afterwards using the wool cycle
Gentle handling protects the delicate fibers.
How to Dry Wool & Silk
-
Gently reshape the garment after washing
-
Lay flat on a towel to dry
-
Do not tumble dry
-
Do not dry on a radiator
-
Avoid direct sunlight
For best results, allow the garment to dry in a well-ventilated area or outdoors in fresh air.
Why Gentle Care Matters
Wool regulates temperature naturally and prevents overheating.
Silk enhances softness and makes the fabric especially skin-friendly — ideal for sensitive baby skin.
Proper care preserves these natural benefits and ensures long-lasting quality.

FAQ
For newborns, we recommend size 50 from our collection. Our pajamas are long and slim, just right for your little ones. The size 56/62 is still significantly too large for a newborn.
You can buy many things in a larger size for growth, but I advise against doing this with pajamas or generally with your baby's underwear (onesie, wraparound bodysuit, pajama). The more air pockets there are between your child and their clothing, the more energy your child will have to expend to warm these air pockets. Therefore, it is generally not recommended to buy underwear in a larger size.
Wool & silk is an ultimate all-rounder among materials, thanks to its many properties it is one of the best materials for your baby. Wool & silk is also the perfect material for summer. It warms when your child needs warmth and cools when it gets too warm. Wool & silk is antibacterial and dirt-repellent. We especially love the property that this material absorbs moisture more efficiently and better, transports it away from the body, and dries significantly faster than, for example, cotton. This ensures that even babies who can already sweat remain comfortably warm and do not get too cool, especially when they are a bit sweaty in the evening while winding down.
Since our motto is 'Less is more, but the right thing,' we recommend starting with the minimum because, based on our experience with our six children, it simply doesn't take much. Whether it's a newborn or a toddler, two pajamas are sufficient. Just see how you get on with them. You can always get more if needed. Since wool & silk are self-cleaning, it's often enough to hang the clothes out in the fresh air during the day. Wool does not pick up odors quickly and is therefore easy to care for.
Absolutely. We recommend washing the pajamas at 30-40 degrees on the delicate cycle. Using a laundry bag is always beneficial to protect the fibers and prevent them from getting caught in other clothing. Always use a good wool detergent from the organic store, and add lanolin every second or third wash. The natural lanolin replenishes the wool fiber with natural wool fat, which it loses during washing. This helps the material maintain its softness, but most importantly, its properties.
