Especially with the first child, you often don't know how to categorize their feet. Are they narrow, normal, or wide? During the first fitting, you can usually tell pretty quickly if a shoe fits well or if it's too tight or much too loose.

Always use two fingers to check! Place your index finger under the sole and your thumb on top of the toes to get the best tactile feedback. You can feel the position of the longest toe (usually the big toe). There should always be at least 3-4 mm of space in front of the toe. This is different for conventional shoes with stiff soles and unnatural foot shapes. With Lieblinge, it doesn't need to be more. If the toes are already more than 3-4 mm from the front, it's time for the next size.

Extremely important: The very soft substance of an infant's foot is not yet a "finished" bone, but super soft and therefore malleable. Permanently wearing shoes that are too small will definitely lead to deformities, often resulting in permanent misalignments and possibly shortened tendons. So please follow these guidelines.

To ensure children's feet grow healthily, it's important that your child always wears the right shoe size. If the shoes are too small and pinch the toes, this can lead to deformities or joint problems over time. If they are too big, the feet "swim" in the shoe, and your child may clench their toes to gain enough support. Therefore, finding the right size is crucial, as every foot is unique, especially in its shape.

If your Lieblinge have gotten dirty or you want to freshen them up, it's best to use the Lieblinge Leather Care Set (consisting of a gentle natural brush, our lanolin leather soap, and our well-known eco leather grease).

For heavier dirt (such as mud or mush), wipe it off with a damp cloth and then remove it with the brush and gentle soap foam. Wipe the leather while it's still damp, let it dry, and then saturate and impregnate it with our ecological leather grease.

Never dry the leather quickly on a heater or similar; always let it dry at room temperature. You can stuff it with newspaper if necessary.

Always test on a less visible area before cleaning and check the result before treating the whole shoe.

Lieblinge should not be washed in the washing machine.

Lieblinge shoes are not pre-treated with waterproofing agents. We use exclusively ecological and toxin-free materials, which prohibits the use of harmful chemicals. Optimal stain and moisture protection is achieved through regular treatment with Lieblinge's ecological leather grease. We strongly advise against using waterproofing sprays. These typically contain ingredients that are extremely harmful to the body, not to mention the environmental impact.

With commercial leather care products, it's nearly impossible to find out what ingredients they contain. There is no declaration requirement for leather care products. Without a list of ingredients, there is no transparency.

This did not convince Lieblinge. They wanted to ensure that you can use Lieblinge leather care with the best conscience for your child and the environment. Lieblinge produces their ecological leather grease according to NCP (Nature Care Product) certification in northern Germany.

If your Lieblinge get wet, it's best to stuff them with paper and let them dry gently. Do not place the Lieblinge on or near a heater to dry. This can cause the leather to dry out, become stiff and brittle, and potentially lead to color changes.
