Because these natural materials help your baby to regulate its temperature - it can't do that itself at first. Especially in childbirth, the hormone breakdown can mean that you sweat a lot and have a slightly different perception of warmth - but that doesn't mean that your baby is also too warm. Your rule of thumb is: Always one shift more than you!

In general, we recommend always buying clothes that cover your arms and legs up to the age of one. On the one hand to keep your baby nice and warm, on the other hand to protect your baby's skin. Your baby's skin is about 5 times thinner than yours and should not be exposed to the sun or covered with sunscreen, especially in summer. Clothing made of wool & silk has natural sun protection because the silk reflects the sunlight. With good clothing you can therefore protect your baby optimally.

You're probably wondering why a cotton/bamboo body is included in our checklist!? The remnant of the umbilical cord that will fall off your baby in the first few days of life is sometimes a bit bloody and greasy. It is an advantage to have a body made of cotton that you can wash hot.

While bodysuits should always be nice and snug (the bodysuit is your baby’s underwear), cardigans – especially thicker ones – can be bought one size larger. They grow well with you, just roll up your sleeves and you're done!
